Tajikistan Interest Rate

The National Bank of Tajikistan lowered its key refinancing rate by 25 basis points to 8.75% during its February 2025 meeting, marking the first rate cut of the year. This move follows three reductions in 2024, bringing borrowing costs to their lowest level since early 2016. Policymakers cited stable inflation, which remained within the lower limit of the central bank’s target range, while closely monitoring domestic and global commodity prices. By the end of 2024, annual inflation in Tajikistan had eased to 3.6%, down from 3.8% in 2023.
