Wall Street will be open for trading today, but volumes are expected to be light as the holiday season continues.

A Home Price Index report will be issued in the States via the S&P. Economic data from Japan was better than expected from its Core CPI report which showed an increase via inflation.

U.S Markets Open for Business Today, Home Price Index on the Schedule

U.S traders will be able to work today as the major markets re-open after the long holiday weekend. However, volumes will remain light and Wall Street’s results may prove to be suspicious. Data will come from the Housing Sector today with a Home Price Index. And tomorrow’s Consumer Sentiment reading from the Conference Board will get attention.

CPI Beats Expectation in Japan, Light Trading in Asia with Mixed Results

Japan turned in solid economic data earlier, with a better than expected inflation outcome and good Household Spending results. The National Core Consumer Price Index rose 0.9% which beat its estimate. Trading on the major Asian equity Indexes was light today and produced mixed results. The Nikkei Index experienced a slight decline.

Mortgage Numbers from U.K Tomorrow, ECB Economic Bulletin on Thursday

The Euro and Pound are trading in extremely tight ranges as European investors throughout the continent continue to celebrate their holidays. Mortgage data will be provided by the U.K tomorrow via the High Street Lending report. On Thursday, the European Central Bank will issue its Economic Bulletin.

Commodity Action Expected Today, Gold Gets Early Push Upwards

Gold and U.S Crude Oil will get attention from traders who are active today. Both commodities are approaching crucial resistance levels. Gold saw an early push upwards today and is trading near 1278.00 U.S Dollars an ounce.

Manufacturing Data from States, U.S Housing Values Statistics                

The Richmond Federal Reserve will release its Manufacturing Index for U.S investors at 15:00 GMT for examination.
