I have been trading for ten years now and have completed many prop firm challenges. I have reviewed and tested dozens of prop firms and with that experience, it is easy to figure out if a firm is just built on marketing hype or if they really have something unique to offer. In Q2 2026, I tested FTUK on a $50K MT5 account and placed most of the trades during London & New York sessions. I went through the one-step & two-step challenges myself and completed the whole payout procedure, right from the payout request to receiving funds in my account. So this is not just a website review. Here is my honest take on this- they’re alright:
Overall Rating: 4.1/5
The firm, operating since Feb 2021, offers flexible challenges and trading conditions. It has paid out more than $12 million dollars to over 30,000 funded traders in 133 countries, which is an eye-catching number for any prop firm.
In my opinion, the best offering is the Flex Challenge because traders only need a payment of $9 to start it, and then they pay the rest of the activation fee of $56 when they successfully pass. The one-step challenge allows you to be funded all in one go and start at $59 with an 80% fixed profit split. It has a trailing max drawdown, while the two-step challenge runs over the 2 phases, but starts from the same price of $59 but with a static maximum drawdown.
For me one of the main downsides is the consistency rule for both Flex accounts and Instant Funding (depending on the level), which can sometimes make one good day prohibit you from taking out profits until your trading profile has evened out. It’s often one of those ‘quiet rules’ that become very apparent very suddenly. However, in the case of news trading, it’s actually unrestricted in all programs and all stages with absolutely no caps, which makes it ideal for news traders.

Is FTUK For You?
Best For:
- News Traders: News trading is fully permitted at all stages across all programs without any profit caps, time window limitations, or penalty of any sort.
- Swing Traders: Overnight & weekend holding is fully allowed in all offerings without any swap fees, which makes it ideal for swing traders.
- EA Traders: Risk management EA or automated systems can be used on all programs.
- Copy Traders: Copy Trading is allowed from your own legally associated account(s). Traders are free to make use of their own external trading account as a master and copy onto their FTUK account.
Not Ideal For:
- Scalpers: All trades should be held open a minimum of 30 seconds across all accounts and all programs. Closing it under this is considered HFT, no matter if you hit a stop loss or a take profit.
- Beginners: There is no demo trial, the One-Step evaluation starts with 1:10 forex leverage. Instant Funding and Flex Challenge have a consistency rule to complete, which beginners struggle to replicate.

Can I Trust FTUK?
I have seen that FTUK is a generally well-reputed company in the prop firm space and you can surely count on them with some caveats. It has been operating since February 2021, they have paid out in excess of $12,000,000 to over 30,000 traders in 133 different countries and they state all of their rules on the FAQ page with no apparent hidden fine print. On the other hand FTUK has a Trustpilot score of 3.9/5 (based on 640+ reviews) which isn’t brilliant and has definite room for improvement.
Company Stability
FTUK started in February 2021 under Nicholas Quinn. It is run by Nexdata-Solutions B.V., an organization located in Utrecht, the Netherlands at Goeman Borgesiuslaan 77, 3515 ET Utrecht. Simulation trading is carried out by FTUK Markets Ltd, located in Saint Lucia at Ground Floor, The Sotheby Building, Rodney Village, Rodney Bay, Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia. This is normal in a prop trading firm using a simulation, and there is nothing suspicious there. They are working under the same brand and have had the same management since 2021 without any name or ownership changes.
Trustpilot Rating
FTUK has currently a 3.9 /5 from over 600+ reviews. Positive remarks mostly relate to fast payouts, clear trading rules and helpful answers from their support team. On the negative side, I was seeing lots of people saying they had to deal with unexpected account shutdowns due to the Account Protector, frequent payout delays and traders complaining that the drawdown rules weren’t made clear upfront. Most of the negative comments appear to have a public reply from FTUK, which at least suggests they do consider the feedback that they receive.
As support responsiveness seems to be mentioned a few times in the comments, this may also be an aspect to consider, but as a whole, FTUK’s average rating of 3.9 is middling to lower than other industry firms. The reviews do not point to any specific issue with payouts, but the volume of complaints that relate to rule breaches may indicate that traders are not well informed of the rules which is an issue.

Transparency
I always pay very close attention to how transparent a firm is when diving in, and FTUK does very well on that score, but still there are some areas that need to be improved. All trading rules for all of their programs are published on their website, with explicit details regarding all profit targets, drawdown limits, level-based leverage, payout terms and conditions, prohibited trading styles, and even their consistency score. Everything I learned on their website regarding the rules mirrored my experience while trading on their platform.
While reviewing this information, I saw all of the trading rules and conditions are clearly visible on the FAQ, including how RiseWorks works, methods for withdrawal and how long it takes. 1 Step and 2 Step accounts must have a minimum withdrawal of $250; accounts on Instant Funding and Flex Challenge have no withdrawal minimum. Upon my review, I did note some discrepancies in information on the official website and when asking a support member. The most clear is the refund policy. The FAQ clearly says that no purchases are refundable under any circumstance; however, when asked a support member about refunds, they said a refund can be claimed on your second withdrawal on any of the 4 account types.
Trading Rules Transparency
All FTUK rules are publicly published on both the main site and on the FAQ help centre – these include rules around targets, drawdowns, levels and program-specific leverage, consistency score formulas, payout rules, proscribed techniques, and Account Protector rules per program. Live spread checking credentials for all MT5, MatchTrader and TradeLocker accounts are also published live in the FAQ, meaning you can check what current spread you can actually trade at before you purchase any account.
In my opinion, the only area traders potentially would face a problem is with FTUK’s official FAQ page. Some rules like swap fees and refund policy, are not clearly listed on the website. The FAQ page does state both TradeLocker and MatchTrader have no swaps, MT5 does not. While a support agent did confirm to me (once I actually asked about this) that they’d disabled swap fees on MT5 in line with adding MT5 as an option, as FTUK now also supports MT5; you would naturally assume that using it would still mean you would also swap on this instrument unless you decided to search for it.
Overall the main rules are clear and are explained at an understandable level, it is best always to double-check the main page, the FAQ, and contacting the support for any details as minor contradictions can be found between the different pages.
Restricted Strategies: In addition to these prohibitions, the FTUK explicitly lists which strategies it prohibits, such as: Martingale; tick scalping; reverse arbitrage trading; latency arbitrage trading; hedge arbitrage trading; grid trading; high-frequency trading (they have further explained that high-frequency trading means closing or opening any trade within 30 seconds). This is mandatory for all programs and account types; your position being closed (due to S/L or T/P before 30s). These limitations may not be avoided either as a manually traded user, EA user or bot user – each will trigger an account closure upon review by the Risk Team.
News Trading Rules: News trading is completely allowed in all programs and at all stages, both in the evaluation account and on the funded accounts. The thing that I really appreciate is that there are no profit limits or specific time windows surrounding news releases. There are no fees and no blackout periods, allowing you to go in and out of positions on any high-impact news, such as NFP, CPI, FED rates, GDP, etc. This is one of the most liberal positions in the prop firm industry and works for all of the programs, including instant funding, Flex challenge, One-Step, and two-step challenges.
Consistency Rule: One-step and two-step accounts do not have a consistency rule of any kind, leaving traders free to allocate profits amongst trading days as they see fit. Instant Funding and Flex Challenge accounts do have a consistency rule that needs to be followed before a payout or scaling can be requested.
The consistency rule starts at 20% for Level 1 and Level 2 on both Instant Funding and Flex Challenge. The consistency increases to 30% on Instant Funding accounts for levels 3-5, and on level 6, it is 40%. Meanwhile, for Flex Challenge accounts, the consistency goes up to 30% on levels 3 and 4 and then up to 40% on levels 5-6. In essence, you run into the 40% consistency on your Flex Challenge account one level sooner than on an Instant Funding account, which does give a tiny edge to anyone going for the Flex Challenge route. The consistency rule is the biggest single winning day divided by the total closed profit. When the consistency rule has been exceeded, this does not act as a violation but does prevent a payout or scaling until the score is below the threshold.
Minimum Trading Days: There are no minimum trading days at any stage with Instant Funding. One-Step requires 4 qualifying trading days in evaluation; Flex Challenge requires 1 in evaluation, and Two-Step requires 3 qualifying trading days per phase, with every qualifying day requiring a profit of 0.5% on the starting balance minimum. Trading days do not have to be consecutive. In the funded stage, there are no minimum trading days for normal trading, but for One-Step and Two-Step accounts, you need a minimum of 10 trading days to receive your first withdrawal.
Payout Transparency
While I was analyzing the FTUK discord, I didn’t see any major issues reported around payouts, traders do often post their payouts regularly too which I find quite convincing. The payout system is quite open, approved payouts generally appear in 1-2 business days with money being delivered in 1-3 business days from then. Any payout equal to and greater than $500 are delivered via RiseWorks, below $500 is delivered in USDT TRC20 or USDC ERC20. I personally think if FTUK were to list on a third-party payout tracker then I’d add much greater validity to the $12 million claimed payouts and have a lot more trust.
General Transparency
Website: I think FTUK’s website is professional, transparent, and simple to navigate. Traders can quickly locate program information and rules as well as information on the platform without searching extensively around pages. On the top page there is all of the basic details such as the sum paid to clients ($12 million +), variety of traders funded (30,000 +), service reach (133 countries), and also payment period (average 60 mins). Your website’s footer additionally identifies all the company business names, consisting of Nexdata-Solutions B.V.
Social Media: FTUK has a reasonable social media profile that contributes greatly to their community feel. They are quite active on Facebook and Discord. With over 2,400 YouTube subscribers, from whom you can learn more about the firm’s policies and challenges through 300+ videos and over 4,000 followers on Twitter, they appear to have a solid social presence. They have been seen posting successful payout announcements, which also increases transparency around the firm.
Risk Management: As a trader, we always want clarity and visibility when it comes to risk management so there are no hidden rules. In my opinion, FTUK takes no surprises, as traders can monitor the daily loss limit, max drawdown, and profit target live. The daily loss limits for the Instant Funding program and Flex Challenge program are 5% with a 6% trailing max drawdown on both these programs. The one-step challenge has a 4% daily loss limit and an 8% trailing max drawdown. The two-step challenge has a 5% daily loss limit and an 8% static max drawdown based on your initial equity throughout all stages of this program. Daily drawdowns will be generated across all program types and will be defined as the largest value between close balance and equity, evaluated each day at 22:00 UTC.
In addition to drawdown limits, Account Protector closes all trades once the floating loss on the entire account reaches over 2% of the account’s starting balance, and it will also close the trades for only one instrument if the floating loss on just that single instrument has gone past 2%. Both actions count as an Account Protector Violation. On a Flex Challenge and Instant Funding account, 2 violations of Account Protector result in an immediate hard breach without recovery. On the other accounts, the rule can be violated up to 3 times before the fourth violation results in an immediate hard breach.
Like many other firms, FTUK also prohibits some high-risk trading strategies such as Martingale, grid trading, HFT, and all kinds of arbitrage. However, despite these restrictions, traders still get the freedom to choose between 106 different instruments from the forex, commodities, indices, and crypto markets with access to three trading platforms, which I think is a perk for traders.
Challenges
From what I found on the FTUK website the firm offers four flexible programs for traders that include Instant Funding, One-Step, Two-Step, and Flex Challenge. It’s designed for both swing and day traders and also supports automated trading. Holding of positions overnight or during the weekend is permitted in all challenges and phases.
Profit targets for challenges range from 4% for the Flex Challenge and 10% for the One-Step challenge, while the Two-Step has 8% for Phase 1 and 6% for Phase 2. Instant funding challenges don’t have a profit target, as they have a scaling methodology tiered to kick off every 10% in account balance. Additionally, there are also specific minimum trading day requirements. Instant funding requires zero trading days, while Flex has the requirement of 1 trading day (during the challenge stage), 4 days for one-step, and 3 days per stage for two-step.
Daily and trailing maximum drawdowns are account type-dependent. Instant Funding and Flex challenge accounts have 5% per-day and 6% per-trailing maximum drawdowns. One-Step account has 4% per-day, and 8% per trailing maximum drawdowns on both evaluation and funded account stages. Two-Step account has 5% per day and 8% static maximum drawdowns based on the initial balance during any of the stages.

How Hard Is the FTUK Challenge? (Difficulty vs. Industry Standards)
Our Challenge Difficulty score was implemented to provide traders with a better picture of which prop firm they are applying to. We look at not only the profit target but also the entire rule set, including all drawdowns, leverage, consistency, trading limits, EAs, holding times, and more, and create a combined difficulty score out of the set.
| Very Low Difficulty | Low Difficulty | Moderate Difficulty | High Difficulty | Extreme Difficulty |
|---|
Flex Challenge (Pay after you pass): As per our difficulty rating system, Flex Challenge came at low difficulty. This challenge contains a 4% profit target and has 1 trading day minimum in the challenge phase with no time restriction. It offers a trailing max drawdown of 6% with a 5% loss limit per day. For funded traders, there are on-demand payouts, but the consistency score must have been maintained before. It’s 20% at levels 1 and 2, and grows to 40% at level 6. Pay after you pass allows traders to not pay the full fee until they’ve successfully passed and makes the initial pressure on finances easier.
1-Step Challenge: The One-Step Challenge falls in our moderate level of difficulty. In the evaluation, the traders must achieve a 10% profit target over a minimum of 4 trading days, with a daily target of 0.5% of the account balance on the starting account, with no time limit. The daily loss limit is 4%, with a trailing drawdown at a maximum of 8% over the evaluation and the funded phase. In a 1-step challenge, there is no consistency requirement that exists at any stage, and leverage varies from 10:1 up to 50:1 in levels 6 and 7.
2-Step Challenge: In our difficulty rating system, 2-step challenge cam at Moderate difficulty. The phase 1 of the evaluation, should pass with 8% overall profit target and minimum of 3 profitable days which made over 0.5% of the starting capital each. The phase 2, requires 6% profit target with minimum 3 profitable days. Both of the phases have no time limit. Daily 5% limit and overall 8% static maximum drawdown remains constant during the evaluation stages and funded accounts. During the 2 step challenge, the consistency rule is not applied at any stage.

Drawdown Rules: FTUK offers the programs with different drawdown structures. Instant and Flex Challenge programs offer a trailing maximum drawdown limit of 6%. One Step contains 8% trailing max drawdown. Two Steps offers a 8% Static drawdown (most suitable for traders). The daily drawdown of each program is calculated based on equity as of 22:00 UTC, whichever one is higher (open balance or equity). The daily loss limit for Instant Funding, Flex Challenge, and Two Step is 5%, while One Step has 4%.
Flexibility: The part where FTUK really excels is its flexibility. It offers ideal conditions for swing trading where it allows holding overnight and weekend positions on all four programs without any swap fees.
Also one of the biggest advantages you get with FTUK is that news trading is entirely unrestricted, without any time limitations or profit caps. Use of EAs and automated trading systems is also allowed, unless a prohibited strategy is employed. The leverage in Forex from one-step evaluation to a two-step varies from 10:1 to 100:1, so as you progress, you can start with lower leverage and increase it. Copy trading is allowed from the personal account external to FTUK to an FTUK account, but not between separate FTUK accounts.
FTUK Trading Rules by Strategy
Swing trading, copy trading and automated strategies are allowed in all 4 accounts. Scalpers should be mindful of the 30-second trade limit, and day traders of the Instant Funding and Flex Challenge must have a good consistency score before the withdrawal request. Like many other firms, FTUK has also prohibited some strategies that include Martingale, grid trading, tick scalping, HFT, and all arbitrage types.
I think the real perk that traders get here is that news trading is completely allowed in all programs during both evaluation and funded phases, without limits of time, profit and penalties. NFPs, CPIs, Feds and others high impact releases, such as GDPs, FOMC minutes, are tradeable. This includes instant funding, flex challenge, one step, and two steps. Having personally traded a few news events on the platform, execution held up well through high volatility periods.
Overnight and weekend holding is allowed in all of the programs in any phase. There is no instrument restriction, swap fees are removed from all 3 platforms, TradeLocker, MatchTrader, & MetaTrader5, and it will cost nothing to hold the position overnight or on the weekends. You have no restrictions and will not be forced to close out any position at any point of the day or week.
Day Trading is supported on all the programs with no maximum position size limit and no limits to the lot size, other than the 2% Account Protector floating loss rule. Leverage for forex varies from 1:10 to 1:100. The consistency criteria for Instant Funding and Flex Challenge are the rules that a day trader should be careful about, since one large successful day can delay payouts.
I think one of the biggest benefits that you get at FTUK is that it allows EAs and automated tools in all trading programs without any restriction as long as you do not use them for prohibited or cheating behaviour (Martingale strategy, tick scalping strategy, HFT trading, grid trading, or arbitrage).
I think FTUK isn’t suitable for tight scalpers as FTUK has a rule that all trades should be open for at least 30 seconds on every account and every program. Trades closed before 30 seconds are an HFT violation even if the trade touched stop loss or took profit prior to that 30-second window.
The firm allows copy trading from personal accounts legally tied to the account holder. This means that if you want to make a copy of your master account located in a non-FTUK account into your FTUK account, it will not be a problem. Your FTUK account may be both a master and a slave account. However, it is not permitted to copy exactly the same operations at the same time in several FTUK accounts; every FTUK account needs to have operations that are different from each other, having them the same will be seen as a breach.
Capital Efficiency = Sum of All Account Balances / Sum of All Challenge Fee
After my review, I found the pricing of the FTUK reasonable, with prices as low as $109 for the Instant and $59 for 1 and 2-step programs. The setup fee for the Flex Challenge program is $9 for all sizes of accounts, and the balance is not charged to you until you pass your evaluation.
In terms of capital efficiency of the programs, the one-step program comes out as the strongest. It offers $14 for every $1 of the challenge cost (well above par), whereas the industry average stands at $7.9. The two-step program delivers $14 for every $1 against the industry average of $14.39, which is only slightly below average. In comparison, the Flex Challenge is almost on par with the industry benchmark of $7.87 per dollar, whereas the Instant Funding program is the least effective at $4.59 for every $1 and against a benchmark of $4.98 (slightly below the industry average).
On the payout side, the FTUK challenge fee is refunded on the 2nd withdrawal (refund is available for all account types), and you do not need to ask for it as it will be applied automatically.
FTUK Funded Account Prices and Cost Efficiency
| Acc Sizes | Flex (Pay After You Pass, 6% Max DD) | Instant (6% Max DD) | 1-Step (8% Max DD) | 2-Step (8% Max DD) |
| $5k | $65 (4.62 per $1) | $109 (2.75 per $1) | $59 (6.78 per $1) | $59 (6.78 per $1) |
| $10k | $107 (5.61 per $1) | $179 (3.35 per $1) | $89 (8.99 per $1) | $89 (8.99 per $1) |

| $100k | $681 (8.81 per $1) | $1,199 (5 per $1) | $489 (16.36 per $1) | $489 (16.36 per $1) |
This table shows per-account capital efficiency. The overall TCPD weighted average across all account sizes is discussed below.
How Do We Assess the Competitiveness of the Firm’s Costs?
True Capital per Dollar (TCPD)
Most traders miss a key point in comparison to prop firms. The $100,000 account you see is not the money you are working with – never will be. The drawdown limit is the one thing you need to concern yourself with because it’s the maximum you can lose before you get kicked off the program.
True capital per dollar bridges the gap between the screen size and the reality of how much money you can lose before the risk. It removes the marketing headline and gives you the actual value of dollars in risk capital per dollar in fees that the program delivers.
Formula: TCPD = (Account Size × Max Drawdown %) / Challenge Price
| Account | Max DD | Price | TCPD |
| $100K | 8% | USD 489 | $16.36 per $1 |
| $50K | 8% | USD 269 | $14.87 per $1 |
There is one important thing to note that just because a challenge fee is low doesn’t mean you’re getting a good deal. TCPD removes any guesswork because they’re transparent about the amount of capital you’re receiving with every dollar. The higher you are on that metric, the more trading capital you’ll have. This is the only aspect you need to focus on when comparing one trading firm to another.
FTUK Cost Competitiveness vs. Industry Benchmark
| Challenge Type | Funded Drawdown | Average Funding per Dollar | Industry Benchmark |
| Flex (Pay After You Pass) | 6% (Trailing) | $7.87 | $7.9 |
| Instant | 6% (Trailing) | $4.59 | $4.98 |
| 1-Step | 8% (Trailing) | $14 | $7.9 |
| 2-Step | 8% (Static) | $14 | $14.39 |
Refund Policies
From my research, FTUK does provide a fee refund on accounts; however, there’s a catch, it’s not available on request, when you want it or because you just simply changed your mind after you purchased it. It becomes available from your second payout, and it covers all four accounts: Instant Funding, Flex Challenge, One-Step & Two-Step. Traders who get to the second payout receive a refund.

-Overall: All the programs from FTUK have trader-friendly conditions. Forex trading has a commission ($4 per standard lot); the others are commission-free. The spreads are variable (depending on the market) with no stop-loss requirement.
-Key finding: In my opinion, traders get real advantages at FTUK as your trading capital will be doubled up to $6,400,000 for every level you progress when trading (this level only applies to One-Step, Two-Step, and Instant Funding) with the Level 7 add-on. The Flex Challenge can only go up to Level 6 of $3,200,000 because it does not include the Level 7 add-on.
-Key positives: One thing that I really appreciate about FTUK is it allows news trading without any restriction on all programs (no profit limits, time limits, or penalties). No lot size limits. EAs are permitted for all accounts. Three platforms, TradeLocker, MatchTrader, and MT5, are available.
-Key limitation: The consistency rule on Instant and Flex challenges can also put a hard cap on your overall payouts and growth on by limiting how much of your total realized profit can come from a single trading day. One-step and two-step have a specific limit; traders need to complete 10 trading days for the first payout.
-Best for: The traders who want full freedom of doing swing trading their way, with automation of any kind or trading news at the very precise moments, have full control of the method and position sizing, not dictated by any trading platform.
Trading Test
I performed a trading test to observe how things are in the real trading environment. My trading test was conducted on an FTUK Two-Step $50K account on MetaTrader 5. My main currency pairs were gold and GBP/USD, and I placed most of the trades within the London & New York sessions in Q2 2026, when geopolitics were certainly a factor in making volatility apparent in the markets.

While placing trades, I analyzed that execution is smooth throughout the process with zero requotes across any major pairs. I experienced zero latency on the platform across either session. While the spreads on gold did widen a bit around the New York open, which is to be expected during this session due to liquidity levels, it was nothing that restricted any aspect of trade management.

To put it all together, I feel the execution quality stood up very well to live conditions, and I found the platform performed consistently across all the sessions.
FTUK Accounts
Each account structure has one set of commissions across all program types and levels. The price each account pays is a $4 flat commission on forex standard lots only; no commission is charged on crypto, indices, or commodities. This pricing is consistent between all four of FTUK’s accounts and all three of its trading platforms. Spreads are variable; they will widen around rollovers and in advance of high-impact news announcements. The firm indicated that FTUK chose its three trading platforms due to its competitively priced spreads, but no specific pricing is advertised because market spreads vary. Traders may access current spreads at all times on the three trading platforms with FTUK’s test account login information.
Leverage
FTUK Forex leverage varies between each program. For example, Instant Funding and Flex Challenge have fixed forex leverage that remains the same at each funded level, while One-Step and Two-Step are provided with rising leverage as they progress through the scaling phases. See forex leverage for all phases of each program below.
| Level | Instant Funding | One-Step | Two-Step | Flex Challenge |
| Evaluation | N/A | 10:1 | 30:1 | 50:1 |
| Verification | N/A | N/A | 30:1 | N/A |
| Funded 1 | 30:1 | 10:1 | 30:1 | 30:1 |
| Funded 2 | 30:1 | 20:1 | 30:1 | 30:1 |
| Funded 3 | 30:1 | 20:1 | 50:1 | 30:1 |
| Funded 4 | 30:1 | 30:1 | 50:1 | 30:1 |
| Funded 5 | 30:1 | 30:1 | 50:1 | 30:1 |
| Funded 6 | 30:1 | 50:1 | 100:1 | 30:1 |
| Funded 7 | 30:1 | 50:1 | 100:1 | N/A |
For all programs and all levels, leverage on other asset classes is fixed as follows:
| Asset Class | Instant Funding, One-Step, Two-Step | Flex Challenge |
| Metals | 10:1 | 10:1 |
| Indices | 5:1 | 10:1 |
| Non-Metal Commodities | 5:1 | 5:1 |
| Crypto | 2:1 | 2:1 |
Trading Fees
FTUK offers trading costs that are both competitive and transparent. Forex pairs cost only $4/standard lot (no commissions on indices, crypto, or commodities) regardless of the account or platform. In my testing, spreads were tight, and I found that most instruments offered tighter spreads than the industry average, with WTI being an exception. Overnight swap fees have also been removed on all 3 platforms, so there is no additional charge for holding trades past the end of the day rollover.
Spreads
EUR/USD and gold were the notable performers. EUR/USD was at half the industry average, with gold at 12 cents instead of the industry benchmark of 28 cents (which is a brilliant performance for a prop firm at this price point). The US30 and BTCUSD also performed well, as both recorded within their industry averages.
The only weak part was WTI. At 0.5 points versus a weighted average of 0.047, the price of WTI is more costly than the benchmark and is the only item where I found an issue with the cost. Oil trading professionals will discover the disparity between the oil types over time.
In all, the results are largely positive, with four of the five instruments managing to come in above the industry standard. WTI is the one anomaly and is certainly worth consideration if your trading includes a significant portion of commodity-based instruments.
| Instruments | FTUK Spreads | Industry Average |
| EUR/USD | 0.1 pips | 0.2 pips |
| BTCUSD | $31.24 | $35 |
| WTI | 0.5 points | 0.047 points |
| GOLD | 12 cents | 28 cents |
| US30 | 2.7 points | 3.14 points |
Commissions
FTUK has a commission of $4 per standard lot round turn for forex pairs which aligns exactly with the market average. However, the other instrument types like commodity, index and crypto are all commission-free, which is a positive sign for traders who trade on these instruments.
| Instruments | Account (Round Turn) | Industry Average (Round Turn) |
| Forex | $4 round trip | $4 round trip |
| Crypto | No Commission Charge | $0/Lot (Zero-commission instrument) |
| Indices | No Commission Charge | $0/Lot (Zero-commission instrument) |
| Commodities | No Commission Charge | $0/Lot (Zero-commission instrument) |
Swap Fees
What I really liked about FTUK is that it has no swap fees across all 3 platforms. It doesn’t matter if you trade on TradeLocker, MatchTrader, or MetaTrader 5; there are simply no overnight swap fees to be paid. This is a huge benefit for swing traders and indeed any trader who tends to hold positions after the daily rollover.
Overall Trading Fees
There are no swap fees that are charged by FTUK so they won’t be counted in Trading Fees Calculations. Forex pairs have a $4/lot commission and the spread that I experienced during my testing. As there are no commissions on other instruments, that’s why only the spread has been accounted for.
During my analysis, I found that Gold and BTCUSD are particularly noticeable, as they are both below the market average. US30 is also a positive indicator, as it also came below the industry average. EUR/USD comes in at $5, while the industry average is $6, remaining a strong offering on forex. WTI is the only instrument that trades higher than the market average at $5, compared to the market average of $4.70, and is one to be watchful of for oil traders.
| Instruments | Trading Fee | Industry average |
| EUR/USD | $5 | $6 |
| BTC | $31.24 | $35 |
| WTI | $5 | $4.70 |
| GOLD | $12 | $28 |
| US30 | $2.7 | $3.14 |
Prohibited Trading Styles
Below, I’ve included a quick overview of the trading styles that are not permitted by FTUK. This outline includes a description of what could lead to a flagged trading account or a violation, and the types of trades that would not raise any flags. The rules laid out below should help to prevent traders from making common mistakes when they get started in trading.
| Strategy | FTUK Interpretation |
| Martingale | It is not permitted to increase your risk on the next trade if you incurred a loss. In FTUK, risk is quantified using a combination of lot size and stop loss distance. It is also prohibited to increase your lot size by adding to an existing losing trade in the same direction and in the same instrument, regardless of the lot size the addition will be made. |
| Tick Scalping | The strategies that are trying to exploit tiny moves over a short period of time are prohibited on all types of FTUK accounts and stages. |
| High-Frequency Trading | You will be restricted to 30 seconds of trade open time. Trades closed early due to stop loss being hit, take profit being hit, or even if the trade is managed, it still counts. |
| Grid Trading | It is prohibited on any type of account or any program to enter into a planned order that is in a set price series at fixed increments. |
| Latency Arbitrage Trading | Using time delay of the price feed to our advantage to catch the opportunity with a better rate from outside the platform will eventually be identified and the account will be suspended immediately. |
| Reverse Arbitrage | Doing the opposite of exploiting differences in prices between different assets/platforms is illegal and punished with the same fine as latency arbitrage. |
| Hedge Arbitrage | All four programs prohibit running arbitrages using hedged positions. |
| Exploiting Simulated Conditions | A strategy that is effective only because the account is simulated – instead of behaving like actual trading on a live account – will be considered a serious breach, both at the evaluation and funded stages. |
| Copy Trading Across FTUK Accounts | The firm forbade the traders to open the identical trades on multiple FTUK accounts simultaneously, as it’s considered a breach of the rules. Each account must use unique strategies. |
| Account Protector (2% Rule) | A 2% loss of the balance as open (either for one instrument or in total) results in closure of all open positions. Flex and Instant Funding have two triggers for a permanent hard breach. One-Step and Two-Step have three soft breaches before the account will be closed due to a permanent hard breach. |
Tradable Instruments
FTUK has around 106 instruments from across forex, indices, commodities, and crypto on their Match Trade, TradeLocker, and MT5 platforms (availability may vary by platform, so it’s worth checking before designing a multi-asset plan).
| Instruments | Count | Examples |
| Forex Majors | 7 | EURUSD, GBPUSD |
| Forex Minors | 21 | EURJPY, GBPJPY |
| Forex Exotics | 28 | USDNOK, USDZAR |
| Metals | 4 | XAUUSD, XAGUSD |
| Commodities | 13 | Brent, WTI, NATGAS |
| Indices | 13 | DJIA, NASDAQ, SPX |
| Crypto | 20 | BTCUSD, ETHUSD |
Trading Platforms and Tools
FTUK offers three options to choose from when selecting a forex account that include: TradeLocker, Match Trader, and MT5. TradingLocker is a user-friendly platform compatible with web, desktop, and all mobile devices. On the other hand, on MT5 traders can get the option to use it on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, but it lacks a web option. There is one thing that slightly limits the traders who use MatchTrader as it is only available for web use. It has limited functionality for mobile/desktop trading but features an extensive instrument selection, plus several exclusive instruments.
Here is the availability of the platforms:
| Platform | Web | Windows | Mac | iOS | Android |
| MetaTrader 5 | ✘ | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ |
| TradeLocker | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ |
| MatchTrader | ✔ | ✘ | ✘ | ✘ | ✘ |
US-based traders are accepted but can only use TradeLocker or MatchTrader, as MT5 is not available to them.
Islamic (Swap-free) Account
I found that at FTUK there’s technically no account which is explicitly designated as an Islamic Account, but in practice it does not tend to be an issue as their accounts are swap free. FTUK has removed swap fees on all three trading platforms by default. This automatically makes all accounts swap-free. So muslim traders are not required to apply for an account specifically or pay any additional fee, so this is a big plus for traders who follow Shariah-compliant trading strategies.
Demo Account
FTUK doesn’t offer a free trial or demo account to test the trading strategy, but anyone who wants to test the trading conditions before purchasing can have live spread-checking credentials (available on the FAQ page) of MT5, TradeLocker, and MatchTrader. These will enable you to log in and see the live spread on the FTUK account.
Inactivity
At least one trade needs to be executed and exited every 30 days for any account being traded. An automatic hard breach will be assigned without compromise if this requirement is not met. Traders who require a break ranging from 30 to 90 days should contact FTUK support beforehand to put a marker on their account to prevent an automatic breach during the desired time off. After that these breaks beyond 90 days are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

All four products include overnight and weekend holding, open news trading, and EA use. However, their most noticeable differentiators are drawdown style, profit split, and when they will payout. Instant Funding and Flex Challenge provide an on-demand payout facility with a consistency score. Instant Funding and Flex Challenge also provide the on-demand payout facility with a consistency score, whereas One Step and Two Step offer biweekly payouts (weekly payout option available with add-ons) and no consistency score at the funded stage.
Consistency Rule
One of the initial factors I review when looking into a prop firm as a trader is their rules around consistency as this determines both when you can get paid and how much you get paid. With FTUK, consistency rules only applies to Instant Funding and Flex Challenge funded accounts. In contrast, traders using One Step or Two Step do not face consistency rules at any funded tier, meaning payouts are based on profit and trading day conditions alone without any regard for distribution.
In the case of Instant Funding and the Flex Challenge, the score is determined by dividing the largest single profit-taking day of your trading account by the closed profit of your trading account. If this ratio exceeds the maximum for your level, the payout will be delayed, and your account scaling will be postponed until the distribution returns to normal. The maximum acceptable ratio varies between 20% for Level 1 and reaches up to 40% for Level 6 to provide maximum flexibility for scaling. Exceeding this threshold is not considered a hard breach and there are no reset options – it resets automatically after any payouts or scalings.
KYC (Know Your Customer)
FTUK also requires account verification before a withdrawal is made or before a funded account can be verified. This is handled from your FTUK account settings using your Veriff. Any of the following forms of government-issued ID can be submitted to complete account verification: driver’s license, national identification card, passport, or any other recognized form of identification. All submitted documents should be recent and valid.
Verification can be done at any time after receiving dashboard details, but must be completed before scaling to Level 2 or requesting a first withdrawal on an Instant Funding account. KYC is not required during the evaluation phase, but only verified users will be moved to the funded stage on One-Step and Two-Step accounts, and only verified users can request payouts on Instant Funding accounts. Verification typically takes a few minutes but can take up to 24 hours to complete.
Payouts
In my opinion, FTUK’s payout structure is transparent and easy to understand for traders. When I tested the firm, I made a request using the RiseWorks payment method, and my earnings were processed less than a day after the requested payment was approved – exactly what I would expect for a payment of this type from this particular firm. Payments typically become approved between one and two days after the accounts team completes the account review, and the payment will reflect in the wallet between 1 and 3 working days (depending on the payment method used).
Withdrawals are made from the FTUK dashboard with no trades open or pending. Instant Funding and Flex Challenge payout on demand once your consistency threshold has been met. One-Step and Two-Step pay out on a bi-weekly basis with the option of weekly payout with an add-on; your first payout can be accessed after your initial 10 trading days.
Withdrawals are conducted via RiseWorks when over $500 and will be performed using USDT TRC20 or USDC ERC-20 below $500 at no charge. One-Step & Two-Step require a minimum withdrawal of $250, Instant Funding & Flex Challenge do not have a minimum withdrawal requirement (provided you achieve a consistency score). The profit split will be from 60%-90%, depending on the program and level.
Profit Split
The profit split isn’t fixed, as the maximum payout for traders ranges from 60% to 90% based on the account type and level you reached. For both One Step and Two Step, it’s set at 80% irrespective of the level that you achieved. As far as Instant Funding is concerned, the profit split is as low as 65% at level 1. But at level 6, it reaches as high as 90% which extends to level 7 too (if you qualify for it). Flex challenge has the same pattern with level 1 being 60% but climbs to 90% at level 6.
Payout Rules
| Categories | Details |
| Profit Split | 60% to 90%, depending on program and level |
| Payout Method | RiseWorks (above $500), USDT TRC20 or USDC ERC-20 (below $500) |
| Fees | No additional fees |
| Processing Time | 1 to 3 working days |
| Payout Frequency | On Demand (Instant Funding and Flex Challenge); Every 14 days (One-Step and Two-Step) |
| Minimum Withdrawal | $250 (One-Step and Two-Step); No minimum (Instant Funding and Flex Challenge) |
| Min Trading Days for 1st Payout | 10 days (One-Step and Two-Step); None (Instant Funding and Flex Challenge) |
Bonuses and Promotions
To lower your challenge cost or the profitability target for any of FTUK’s programs, they issue monthly promo codes on the homepage or their Discord channel. Make sure to validate these before buying! For the more enterprising individual, they have an affiliate program where you will earn a 10-20% commission through three tiers and receive your payout every 30 days. If you purchase any Instant Funding, one-step, or Two- Step accounts with them, there are 2 add-ons that you can purchase, such as weekly payouts, a 20% profit increase, or even a level 7 unlock (these are not applicable for the Flex Challenge).
Customer Support
-Overall: I found the support team to be friendly and the responses were good and was answering the queries pretty well and the response times varied between a few to several hours sometimes.
-Key positive: The ticketing system was pretty useful and email responses were knowledgeable and specific to the question, rather than generic or templated.
-Key limitation: Sometime Inconsistencies between the information given by support agents and what is published on the official website which required cross-checking before confirmation.
-Best for: This is good for traders who prefer direct, written support and are comfortable using live chat, email, or Discord for account queries.

Support Test
I tried testing support with Technical Queries (Q&As) via Discord & Email. Discord seemed to have decent response times, and that’s as good as it gets for Discord. However, I noticed an inconsistency in answers, and some of them directly contradicted what was written on the firm’s website (Example: I was told that there’s a refund policy on all challenges on the second payout, when no mention of it was present on the website). The emails were, nevertheless, much clearer and I found no contradictions in their answers. Response time, however, was a mixed bag- some quick responses, while some were a bit delayed.

Education
While nothing groundbreaking, FTUK doesn’t disappoint on the education front either. If you take a look at the main site, there’s a blog which delves into trading strategies and market analyses. FAQ is an organized and comprehensive help centre spread across rules, programs, platform and payouts. FTUK does have a YouTube channel with testimonials, trader-produced video guides and walkthroughs of the platform. There’s a Discord community channel for traders to assist each other and discuss strategies. What’s there generally addresses what the majority of traders would require for beginning.
The Bottom Line
I think FTUK is positioned well within the prop firm industry, especially for a trader looking for a degree of freedom and no unnecessary red tape. The rules are transparent and clear and the trading conditions are pretty decent for a prop firm. The company has been operating and paying out to traders for more than five years which shows that they have sustainable operations.
FTUK provides ideal conditions for news traders as it allows them to trade freely during news and it’s a haven for swing traders as there are no swap fees on any of the three platforms it offers to trade. EA and Copy Traders are also allowed to use them freely – the only thing is that they do not use any prohibited or cheating strategy using automated tools.
The one rule traders need to watch out for is the consistency rule of both the Instant Funding and Flex Challenge. Traders need to make sure that their profits don’t swing wildly, even if they have a winning day of trading before they get payouts or scalability.
One-step and two-step programs offer biweekly payout while instant and flex have payouts on demand.
The profit split on Instant Funding is 65% for level one, and both one-step and two-step are flat at 80% regardless of scalability as a trader. The few things that actually go against FTUK are its Trustpilot rating of only 3.9 and its 30 second trade holding rule.
