The NASDAQ 100 underlying index was closed for the Labor Day holiday in America, but some CFD brokers were still open. When I look at the chart of this asset, I see that the market is trying to continue a bounce that started a few days ago and is part of a larger pullback in an even larger uptrend.

NASDAQ 100 Technical Analysis

The NASDAQ 100, of course, is closed, the real market that is. The CFD market that most retail traders with a MetaTrader 4 platform or MetaTrader 5 for that matter is open for part of the day, depending on your broker. Because of this, liquidity will of course be a major issue and therefore it’s not really a market you should read too much into, depending on what you’re looking at for the session. However, what we did see on Friday was the market rally a bit and it does look like it’s trying to do everything it can to continue going higher over the longer term.

At this point, the 19,600 level should be an area of extreme importance as it has been a bit of a barrier multiple times over the last week or so. And if we can break above there, then the Nasdaq 100 is very likely to continue going higher. Remember, both the United States and Canada are away at Labor Day on Monday, so most of what you’re seeing are European and Asian CFD traders kick the market around for a point or two.

It’s really not the real market, it’s really not real trading, and it’s certainly not something you should be involved in even if you do have the opportunity to do so. With this, I do think that the market looks like it’s going to try to point higher, but Tuesday will tell the tale.
