LONDON (Reuters) - British new car registrations rose by more than 25% in January compared with the same month last year when showrooms were closed due to tight coronavirus restrictions, according to preliminary industry data released on Friday.
LONDON (Reuters) – British new car registrations rose by more than 25% in January compared with the same month last year when showrooms were closed due to tight coronavirus restrictions, according to preliminary industry data released on Friday.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said private registrations were up by about 60% and one in five buyers opted to purchase an electric vehicle last month.
The SMMT will provide the final figures for the month at 0900 GMT.
