eToro USA LCC does not offer CFDs, and only real Crypto assets are available.
Founded in 2007, eToro emerged as a pioneer in social trading, boasting a global community of 30 million users. The New Jersey-based US entity, launched in 2022, offers a unique mix of assets, including cryptocurrencies, stocks, options, and ETFs.
eToro US stands out with its rock-bottom fees, multi-asset platform, innovative copy trading features, and ready-made Smart Portfolios. It is also one of only a handful of US brokers offering spot cryptocurrencies alongside more conventional investments like stocks.
I rate eToro US as an attractive option for beginner investors and crypto enthusiasts alike.

Offering a diverse array of crypto assets and innovative products like Smart Portfolios, eToro US is particularly appealing to cryptocurrency fans. With its user-friendly platform, copy trading features, and extensive educational resources, I rate eToro US as a great fit for beginners.

eToro US is regulated by top-tier FINRA and is a member of SIPC, which protects clients against the loss of cash and securities. With a lengthy operating history of over 17 years, eToro has a substantial depth of experience as a broker, and my research indicated that the company is highly transparent.
FINRA, a private corporation, establishes and upholds the regulations that all registered brokers in the United States must adhere to. This organization diligently oversees brokers to ensure compliance with its standards, secures restitution for investors who have suffered losses, and actively works to eliminate unethical practitioners from the industry.
To serve clients worldwide, brokers must have multiple regional entities. The level of client protection guaranteed by regional regulators varies widely. Here are some of the key features to check on at your broker`s regional entity:
The table below lists the protections and benefits offered by eToro USA Securities Inc.

Regulatory requirements are subject to change. We gathered the data listed above in January 2024.
In our tests for the Trust category, we also cover factors relating to stability and financial strength. Here, we focus on the broker’s longevity, the company’s size, and its transparency.
eToro US launched in 2007, marking it as a relatively experienced broker. According to its LinkedIn page, the company is headquartered in London, United Kingdom, and has 1,001-5,000 employees.
In conducting my research for this review, I found eToro US to be transparent overall. Its regulatory status is listed in the footer of each page of the etoro.com/en-us/ website. Costs are broken down on the Fees page. Finally, clients can find the Customer Agreement in the Disclosure Library listed in the footer of the website.
To summarize, my findings show that eToro US can be regarded as trustworthy due to the following qualities:
eToro US offers commission-free trading in stocks, ETFs, and options. There are no fees for copying other traders or investing in Smart Portfolios. In addition, it does not charge any fees for withdrawals, account maintenance, or inactivity. I rate the fees at eToro US as competitive in relation to the industry.
eToro US does not charge any account maintenance, deposit/withdrawal, or inactivity fees.
eToro US earns money via fees, including the 1% crypto trading fee, a crypto transfer fee, interest on your cash balance, and Payment for Order Flow (PFOF). PFOF is the compensation that broker-dealers receive for directing customer orders to specific exchanges or market makers.
I rate the fees at eToro US as competitive, due to the following factors:
eToro has made significant investments in developing its proprietary trading platform, and the result is impressive. The platform’s design is sleek and minimalistic, striking a balance between ease of use and the extensive range of services offered. Available as a web platform and a mobile app, eToro, however, lacks a desktop version. In my assessment, the eToro platform stands above average in the industry.
The eToro platform features a watchlist that is straightforward to set up, enabling the creation of both custom lists and those grouped by asset class.
Sentiment data from TipRanks and CoinFi break down the percentage of buy, hold, and sell ratings from market top Wall Street analysts and cryptocurrency experts.
Another strong point of the platform is the search feature, which allows you to pull up an instrument in a snap.
Price alerts inform you when an asset reaches a specified price level or moves by a set percentage.
I find this a great tool when I have identified a major support or resistance level that could provide breakout or trend-fading opportunities. Alerts allow you to easily track multiple assets and also free you from having to hover over your screen non-stop.
eToro US offers robust charting via the web platform. Clients can take advantage of the following features:
Traders at eToro US have access to the following order types:
Some advanced orders such as conditional orders, time-in-force orders, and guaranteed stop-loss orders are not currently available.
The CopyTrader feature within the eToro US platform allows you to mirror the portfolios of other crypto investors. The platform breaks popular investors into lists of most copied and top performers, making it easy to browse through.
For each investor, you can access a variety of important metrics, such as their historical performance, number of copiers, most frequently traded instruments, and a risk rating on a scale of 1 to 10. This risk rating incorporates the maximum drawdown, which indicates the extent of losses an investor has encountered.
Investor profiles go into depth with metrics like trades per week, average holding time, and percentage of profitable weeks. I especially liked the social element, where you can follow posts from the investor you are copying and even interact with them via comments.
Smart Portfolios are innovative, long-term investment portfolios, curated by eToro analysts. At eToro US, Smart Portfolios are focused on cryptocurrency-related themes such as:
Smart Portfolios allow clients to benefit from major market trends, without paying portfolio management fees.
For each Smart Portfolio, you can view data like performance over time, risk rating, and asset allocation.
The Portfolio section of the platform allows you to stay on top of your investments at a glance. You can view real-time figures showing the profit/loss of each position, cash available, total funds invested, total profit/loss, and the total value of the portfolio.
The Popular Investors feed allows users to follow commentary and interact with seasoned market veterans using the platform.
The platform also has a built-in economic calendar that contains major events including company earnings and economic data like CPI.
The eToro platform is well-designed and intuitive providing access to a wide variety of investments. I felt its main advantage lies in offering new investors an easy and smooth entry into the markets. However, the platform is not highly customizable, and for US clients social trading is focused exclusively on crypto assets.
The eToro mobile app is available for Android and iOS devices and incorporates the main features of the web platform, including trading in crypto, stocks, and ETFs, copy trading, and smart portfolios.
The feed of popular investors, charts, alerts, analysis, and news are also available. Like the web platform, you can easily switch between demo and live trading accounts.
Advanced charting from TradingView features over 100 technical indicators, enabling traders to do in-depth technical analysis of the markets while on the go. Market orders and limit orders are available for crypto traders, while those who trade stocks and ETFs can access market, limit, and stop-loss orders.
Face ID and two-factor authentication are available for additional layers of protection. Traders can also deposit and withdraw funds via the mobile app.
I found the eToro mobile app intuitive and beginner-friendly while offering a wide variety of features. Traders can easily manage their portfolios, place trades, follow and engage with popular investors, and receive the latest market news and analysis. Overall, I rate this as a well-designed and robust trading app – better than average for the industry.
eToro US offers a strong range of tradable instruments, including stocks, ETFs, options, and cryptocurrencies. Copy trading and Smart Portfolios are also available, but in the US these are limited to crypto assets. While options trading is possible only via a dedicated mobile app. I rate the diversity of instruments at eToro as better than average for the industry.
Tradable instruments at eToro US include the following:
In the tables below, you can see a selection highlighting the variety of instruments available at eToro US:
Cryptocurrencies | Stocks |
Bitcoin | Ethereum | Dogecoin | Shiba | Tesla | NVIDIA | Meta | Amazon |
ETFs | Smart Portfolios |
Vanguard S&P 500 ETF | ProShares UltraPro Short QQQ | iShares Semiconductor ETF | Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF | Crypto-currency | DeFiPortfolio | Big-Crypto | The TIE Sentiment AI |
The range of eToro US tradable assets is robust with a solid range of stocks, ETFs, and options complimented with the unique range of copy trading providers and Smart Portfolios.
eToro offers customer support via live chat and a ticketing system for email inquiries. Phone support can be scheduled by filling out a form. I experienced lackluster support during my tests, with slow responses via live chat and email.
Support is a key component of a broker’s offering – whether you are a new trader looking for guidance on how to use the platform or an experienced trader who needs help fast to exit their positions in the event of a technical glitch.
I tested eToro US customer service over two weeks with multiple queries, ranging from available education materials to fees and tradable instruments. The chat support was usually slow to respond with wait times of over 10 minutes, but agents eventually answered my questions with satisfactory answers.
There is no inbound number, but eToro clients can schedule a call via Calendly from 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday to Friday. Live Chat is available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and clients can submit a ticket/case 24/7 for communication via email.
Clients of eToto US can deposit and withdraw funds via debit card, bank account, wire transfer, and PayPal. The broker does not charge any fees on deposits/withdrawals, but the processing time for withdrawals is relatively slow for the industry.
Deposit Method | Minimum | Maximum | Processing Time |
Debit Card | $10 | $40,000 per transaction | Instant |

eToro US does not charge any fees on withdrawals, but your bank may charge a fee to receive funds depending on your payment method.
eToro US provides a single account type, with a fully digital application process accessible through its website. I found the application straightforward, completing it in less than 10 minutes. Traders have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the platform using a free demo account.
To open an individual account at eToro US, prospective clients must answer the following questions.
eToro US offers demo accounts via its web platform and mobile app. Demo accounts are especially important for beginners as they allow them to practice their strategies and get comfortable with the trading platform without risking real money.
eToro US offers cash accounts only. No margin is available for trading, and therefore, the available leverage is 1:1.
Clients can elect to have their accounts denominated in 19 different currencies, but trades are still executed in US dollars.

eToro US offers insightful research materials via the website. A steady flow of news coverage along with in-depth analysis keeps clients up to date on the data that is moving the markets. I rate the research offering as better than average for the industry.
The Bottom Line report by Callie Cox guides readers through the week’s top financial stories, with reports like “Everything You Need to Know about Bitcoin ETFs”.
For the top stories of the day, the Daily Breakdown by Bret Kenwell gives readers a TLDR synopsis before covering the key themes to watch out for.

Stocks, ETFs, and crypto are the main focus of eToro US research reports.
The Market Bites podcast covers the latest market news in a punchy, easy-to-digest format.
The podcast is also available in video format and can be viewed on the eToro YouTube channel, along with a range of other research-related videos.
eToro US shines in the education category with a range of courses and guides in text and video format. Materials are crafted to cover the specific assets offered by the US entity. The eToro YouTube channel also has platform tutorials and extensive material explaining copy trading. I rate the educational materials at eToro US as excellent.
The eToro academy, accessible via the eToro US website, offers four major courses:
Course materials are easy to follow and contain both text and video content. The material caters mostly to beginners but some advanced concepts are introduced.
The lessons are short and easy-to-digest and create a great springboard into the market for new investors.
The eToro Academy also features a series of in-depth guides to help users become familiar with important market topics and themes. These guides in text and video format cover subjects like “Investment Terms You Need to Know” and “What is Bitcoin?”. The material is high-quality and reflects eToro’s commitment to helping new traders.
Another solid educational resource is the eToro YouTube channel. Here you can find a wealth of materials including recordings of webinars with industry experts, platform tutorials, primers on copy trading, and more.
eToro US distinguishes itself in the American market by not just offering the usual stocks, ETFs, and options trading but also by integrating a diverse range of cryptocurrencies. This adds a unique flair to their offerings, especially with their standout features like CopyTrader and Smart Portfolio. eToro’s compliance with FDIC and FINRA rules builds user trust, but it’s important to note that cryptocurrencies are not protected by those two authorities.
One of the highlights of eToro US is its fee structure, which is exceptionally competitive. The platform goes a step further by eliminating contract fees for options trading, a move that’s particularly appealing for cost-conscious traders. For experienced traders, eToro offers the added incentive of earning through their CopyTrader system, rewarding those whose strategies are copied by others.
In my assessment, eToro US is particularly well-suited for beginners, casual investors, and those with a keen interest in the crypto market. Its user-friendly interface, combined with educational resources, makes it an ideal platform for those starting their trading journey, while its cryptocurrency options and innovative features keep it attractive for the more crypto-focused traders.
