China’s employment is expected to remain stable this year despite the challenge of creating more jobs, Minister of Human Resources and Social Security Wang Xiaoping said Sunday during an annual parliamentary session. Wang emphasized that the government will expand job opportunities in key sectors while increasing resources and funding to support employment, with a target of creating over 12 million new urban jobs. Efforts will focus on advanced manufacturing, emerging consumer trends, new industries, and major engineering projects, while also supporting employment in rural and urban grassroots areas and small and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, the government will introduce more policies to assist college graduates and young job seekers, stabilize social recruitment by expanding grassroots hiring, and implement a million-job internship program.
