The annual inflation rate in Estonia slowed to 2.5% in June 2024 from 2.9% in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation rate since April 2021, as prices moderated for food & non-alcoholic beverages (0.9% vs 2.2% in May), alcohol & tobacco (5.2% vs 7.4%), household goods (2.2% vs 2.6%), health (8.2% vs 8.7%), transport (3.7% vs 4%), education (7.7% vs 8%), and hotels, cafes & restaurants (3.2% vs 6.1%). Meanwhile, costs rose further for clothing & footwear (2.5% vs 2.4%), communication (10.6% vs 9.4%), and recreation & entertainment (5.6% vs 5.1%), while declining at softer pace for housing (-3.4% vs -4.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices grew 0.4% in June, following a 0.1% rise in the prior month.
