The annual inflation rate in Estonia eased to 3.0% in September 2024 from 3.2% in August. It marked the lowest inflation rate since June, due to a slowdown in prices of housing (0.1% vs 0.9% in August), household goods (2.6% vs 3.2%), and recreation & entertainment (5.0% vs 5.7%). Meanwhile, prices accelerated for food & non-alcoholic beverages (4.6% vs 2.9%), health (7.3% vs 6.8%), hotels, cafes & restaurants (4.7% vs 3.0%), education (7.5% vs 7.4%), alcohol & tobacco (6.3% vs 2.9%), and miscellaneous goods & services (8.3% vs 8.0%). Simultaneously, prices fell for transport (-2.6% vs 0.7%) and clothing & footwear (-2.1% vs -3.8%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.3% in September, the first monthly decline in nine months, reversing from a 0.4% rise in August.
