Estonia Unemployment Rate

The unemployment rate in Estonia inched up to 7.4% in the third quarter of 2024 from 7.3% in the corresponding period of the previous year. The number of unemployed persons increased by 1.5 thousand from a year earlier to 56.3 thousand while employment climbed by 6.3 thousand to 700 thousand. There were 27 thousand unemployed men with a 7.1% unemployment rate and 29.3 thousand unemployed women with a 7.7% unemployment rate. In the meantime, the labor force participation rate edged up to 74.6% in the third quarter of 2024 from 74.5% in the same period a year earlier, while the employment rate was steady at 69.1%.
