Estonia Unemployment Rate

The unemployment rate in Estonia climbed to 7.6% in the second quarter of 2024 from 6.7% in the corresponding period of the previous year. The number of unemployed persons grew 7.6 thousand from a year earlier to 57.8 thousand while employment increased by 11.7 thousand to 706.5 thousand. There were 29 thousand unemployed men with a 7.6% unemployment rate and 28.7 thousand unemployed women with a 7.1% unemployment rate. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate rose to 75.4% in the second quarter of 2024 from 74.2% in the same period a year earlier, while employment accelerated to 69.7% from 69.2%.
