Finland’s unemployment rate climbed to 9.4% in February 2025, up from 7.8% in the same month of the previous year, remaining close to the highest level since May 2024, which was 9.5%. The number of unemployed persons increased by 43 thousand from a year earlier to 263 thousand, while the number of employed persons dropped by 64 thousand to 2.528 million. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate for people aged 15-24 rose to 23.9%, which was 7.1 percentage points higher than a year ago. The activity rate for persons aged 15 to 74 declined to 67.0% from 67.8% a year ago, while the employment rate for persons aged 20 to 64 decreased to 74.5% from 76.9%.
