Finland’s unemployment rate rose to 8.1% in November 2024, up from 6.8% in the same month of the previous year, remaining at the highest level since June. The number of unemployed persons increased by 20 thousand from a year earlier to 226 thousand, while that of employed dropped by 32 thousand to 2.570 million. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate for people aged 15-24 stood at 15.5%, which was 2.1 percentage points more than a year ago. The activity rate for persons aged 15-74 declined to 67.2% from 67.4% a year ago, while the employment rate for persons aged 20 to 64 advanced to 75.7% from 76.9%.
