This marked the highest rate since the three months ending February 2023, as the number of unemployed persons increased by 1.6 thousand from the previous month to 111.7 thousand, while employment decreased by 7.1 thousand to 3.710 million. The unemployment rate across various sectors exhibited mixed trends during the period, though they generally remained low. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, which measures job-seekers between the ages of 20 and 29, ticked higher to 5.6% from 5.4% in the preceding period. The labor force participation rate remained unchanged for three consecutive periods at 56.9%.
