The unemployment rate in Latvia decreased to 6.9% in Q2 2024, down from 7.2% in the previous quarter, nonetheless still higher than the 6.4% in the corresponding period of 2023. There was 65.8 thousand unemployed persons aged 15-74, 2.9 thousand less compared to the previous quarter. Meanwhile, 30.9% or 424.6 thousand from the population aged 15-74 were inactive. As for youth unemployment rate, it rose to 16.9% from 11.9% in the previous quarter.
