The unemployment rate in Malaysia fell to 3.1% in February 2025 from 3.3% in the same month of the previous year, holding steady for the third month running while staying at its lowest level since May 2015. The number of unemployed persons declined by 4.3% year-on-year to a five-month low of 532.8 thousand, while employment increased by 2.6% to 16.73 million. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate rose to a peak of 70.7% from 70.5% in the corresponding month a year earlier.
