The unemployment rate in Morocco rose slightly to 13.3% in Q4 2024, up from 13% in the same period of the previous year, as the number of unemployed increased by 58 thousand to 1.638 million and the number of employed rose by 82 thousand to 10.673 million. Meanwhile, the workforce increased by 140 thousand to 12.311 million. The unemployment rate was notably higher among young people at 36.7%, while it stood at 19.6% among graduates and 19.4% among women. Among the employed, the service sector accounted for 160,000 new jobs, the industrial sector contributed 46,000, and the construction sector added 13,000 jobs. Meanwhile, the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors saw a decline of 137,000 jobs.
