Romania's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 5.4% in October 2024, from a revised 5.6% in each of the previous three months. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 16.7 thousand from a month earlier to 441.1 million. Among genders, the jobless rate for men fell (5.7% vs 6.1% in September), and that for women edged down (4.9% vs 5.0%). In October 2023, the jobless rate was 5.6%.
