The employment rate fell by 0.2 percentage points to 68.1%, while the labor force participation rate advanced by 0.1 percentage points to 74.1%. The average number of total hours worked in December amounted to 148.1 million per week. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate stood at 8.5%, unchanged from the preceding period.
