The employment rate edged down 0.2 percentage points to 69.6%, while the labor force participation was unchanged at 75.6%. The average number of total hours worked in July amounted to 131.7 million per week. Seasonally adjusted, the unemployment rate inched up to 8.4% from 8.3% in the previous month.
