The Swiss unemployment rate declined to a non-seasonally adjusted to 2.9% in February 2025 from 3.0% in the previous month, which was the highest jobless rate since May 2021. The number of unemployed persons fell by 0.3 thousand to 135.4 thousand. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, measuring job-seekers between 15 and 24 years old, edged down to 2.7% from 2.8% in January, with the number of young unemployed declining by 0.3 thousand to 12.1 thousand. The number of vacancies reported increased by 2.3 thousand to 44.4 thousand positions during the period. Adjusted for seasonal factors, the jobless rate stood at 2.7%, unchanged from the previous month.
