Taiwan Unemployment Rate

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Taiwan edged down to 3.37% in January 2025 from a slightly revised 3.38% in the previous month. The number of unemployed persons fell by 1 thousand from a month earlier to 405 thousand, while employment increased by 8 thousand to 11.605 million. In the meantime, the youth unemployment rate, measuring job seekers between 20 to 24 years old, fell to 11.14% in January, the lowest since May 2008, down from 11.23% in the prior period. The labor force participation rate ticked higher to 59.31% from 59.27% in December.
