U.S. business inventories rose 0.3% month-over-month in January 2025, recovering from a 0.2% decline in December and aligning with market expectations. The increase was largely driven by an 0.8% surge in wholesale inventories (vs. -0.4% in December), while manufacturing inventories edged up 0.1% (vs. 0.3%). Meanwhile, retail inventories remained flat after a 0.5% drop in the previous month. On an annual basis, business inventories grew 2.3%.
