Latest Updates
Core producer prices in the United States, which exclude food and energy, unexpectedly declined by 0.1% month-over-month in February 2025, missing market expectations of a 0.3% increase and following an upwardly revised 0.5% gain in January. Services prices dropped by 0.2%, the largest decrease since July 2024, primarily due to a sharp 1.0% fall in trade services. In contrast, prices for services excluding trade, transportation, and warehousing rose 0.2%, while transportation and warehousing costs remained unchanged. On an annual basis, core producer inflation eased to 3.4%, the lowest in three months and below the market consensus of 3.5%.
