Corporate profits in the United States fell by 0.4% from the previous period to $3.128.5 trillion in the third quarter of 2024, compared to the preliminary estimate of no change and following a 3.5% rise in the previous period. Undistributed profits remained flat (vs 10% in Q2), and net cash flow with inventory valuation adjustment rose by 0.4% (vs 4.8%). Net dividends dropped 0.7%, after showing no growth in the previous period. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, corporate profits rose by 5.9%, down from the earlier estimate of 6.4%.
