Binance Futures comes under the Binance Exchange and is the fastest-growing crypto-derivative exchange by trading volume.
Launched in early 2020, Binance Futures supports the trading of both long and short positions across the crypto market. Additionally, the platform offers users with leverage of up to 125 times.
The Futures platform sits within the larger Binance platform therefore offering users exposure to cryptos via spot and futures trading.
CEO Changpeng Zhao founded Binance back in 2017 and is headquartered in crypto-friendly Malta after having moved from China.

Binance Futures Platform Attributes
Key attributes of the Binance Futures platform include:
- The Binance Futures exchange is easy to navigate making it suitable for advanced and the more novice trader and investor. Binance Futures allows investors to go long or short on supported cryptos.
- Users can deposit cryptocurrencies from external wallets or use a credit card, or bank transfer to deposit fiat currency on Binance. FX risk is removed, as Binance supports the deposit of all of the major fiat currencies. Once you have funded your Binance account, you can then transfer USDT to your Binance Futures account.
- Binance Futures offers 2 futures platforms:
- USDT- Futures: Supports the trading of perpetual contracts.
- Coin – Futures: Supports the trading of margined perpetual contracts.

The Affiliate Program
For every new user referred to, the referrer will receive a commission on fees anytime the new referred user trades on any of the spot, margin, or futures markets.
Affiliates are free to invite new users via either a spot referral link or futures referral link and receive commissions.
Futures Referrals:
- If the inviter’s daily average BNB account balance is less than 500BNB, their referral base is 20%. The inviter will share 10% with a friend, leaving the inviter with a 10% referral bonus.
- In cases where the daily average BNB account balances are greater than 500BNB, their base referral rate is 30%. The inviter will share 10% with a friend, leaving the inviter with a 20% referral bonus.
- Future affiliates base referral rate is 40%, of which they will share a 10% discount for the first 30 days, with a friend.
Do note that if a user invites a referral via a Spot referral link, the inviter receives a referral commission on the friend’s fees generated from trading on any of Binance’s spot or futures markets. Please refer to Binance Review for spot referral details.
If an inviter invites a friend via a Future referral link, referral commission is earned across spot, margin, or futures markets trading.

Payment Methods
Binance offers multiple deposit options for users. These include:
- Crypto deposit: For users who already own cryptocurrencies supported by Binance, you may transfer these to the Binance compatible wallets.
- Bank Deposit: Binance supports bank deposits for the world’s fiat currencies.
- Credit/Debit Card: Visa and Mastercard.
- 3rd Party Payment: Via Banxa and Simplex.
Once you have funded your Binance Spot Wallet, you may convert to USDT and then make Binance Spot to Binance Futures wallet transfers.
Registration
You will need to open a Binance Account first. Please refer to Binance Review, Registration section for steps on how to open a Binance account. Also, please note that you will need to complete the verification process to be able to trade crypto derivatives.
To then open a Binance Futures account, go to the Binance Futures home page and click on “Register” on the top right-hand side of the home page. (As shown below).
In order to create a free account, you may open an account linked to your email address or mobile.
Complete the information requested. This includes either email address or mobile number and password. If you are a referral you may also enter the referral ID.
Acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Terms of Service and then click “Create Account”.
Binance Futures will send you an email to verify your email address.
Once you have verified your email address, you may log in to your Binance Futures platform and begin familiarising yourself with the platform.
As a reminder, you will need to complete the verification process to trade on the Binance Futures. Until then, there is a demo account and tutorials to help you with the learning curve.
The Details
Binance Futures supports the investing and trading of crypto derivatives. Offering two platforms, traders can trade on either:
- USDT Futures
- Coin Futures
As part of the world leading Binance exchange, traders may take advantage of multiple deposit and withdrawal options.
From the Binance platform, traders may then freely transfer funds between the Binance Spot and Binance Futures wallets.
See the “Trading Platform” section for details.
Charts
The Binance Futures platform provides traders with interactive charts to support trading and investment activity.
In order to select the crypto pairing, choose from the pairings or contracts on the left-hand side of your trade platforms.
Binance Futures offers users access to 3 chart formats:
- Original
- TradingView
- Depth
Users can view and include indicators by clicking the icon shown by the arrow below. Additionally, users can include technical drawings and adjust the timer intervals.
In order to access the charts, go to the “Trade” page. You can then select the crypto pairing/futures contract from the drop-down menu located on the top left-hand side of your “Trade” page.
Additionally, traders may also choose to display positions and open orders.
Balances and Trading History
Binance Futures provides users with a comprehensive record of all orders made under the USDT and Coin Futures platforms. These are further broken down into:
Open Orders, Order History, Trade History, Transaction History, Borrowing, Repayment, LTV Adjusted History, Collateral Liquidation History, and Interest History.
Go to the “Orders” dropdown menu located on the top right-hand side of your screen and select either USDT Futures or Coin Futures.
As shown below, Binance Futures provides a full breakdown of each order. Additionally, users may also close out trades here or cancel all orders.
On the left-hand side of the page, you will also be able to navigate across the various pages under the “Futures Orders” dropdown menu.
The above is in addition to the details of positions, open orders, order history, trade history, and transaction history that can be viewed below the charts section of your trading interface.
Traders may also view details within the Futures Wallets. Additional information available in the respective wallets include:
Positions, assets, collateral, margin balance, balance, total cross collateral, total interest, unrealized P&L, and total borrowed.
Finally, users may also view a full P&L analysis. This can be found under your “Account” dropdown menu as shown below:
Fees and Charges
Trading Fees
Binance has a tiered trading fee structure that is based upon 30-day cumulative trading volume or 24-hour Binance Coin holdings.
Traders are categorized into VIP Levels, ranging from Level 0 to Level 9.
Additionally, both maker and taker can receive a 10% discount by using BNB. Fees vary for USDT Futures and Coin Futures trading.

Binance Futures Wallets
Binance Futures provides users with wallets to fund the trading of crypto derivatives. In order to view your futures wallets, click “Wallets” on the top right-hand side of your Futures platform as shown below:
There are 2-futures wallets:
USDT Futures
Key features of the wallet include:

- Use Cross Collateral to trade futures:

- Enter the amount of USDT you wish to borrow and hit enter.
- You will then see the collateral amount required to borrow in order to trade futures.
- In case of collateral shortfalls, acquire the USDT shortfall on the Binance platform and then transfer to the USDT Futures Wallet.

In order to fund the USDT Futures Wallet, click “Transfer” at the top of your Wallet.
Select the crypto you wish to transfer, either USDT or BNB, enter the amount then click “Confirm”.
It is worth noting that Binance does not charge fees for transferring crypto to your Futures wallets.
- You are also given your initial LTV and Daily Interest Rate.
- Once you have sufficient collateral, click “Start Borrowing”.
Cross collateral allows you to participate in Futures trading without needing to sell the coins you currently hold. The assets in your Exchange Wallet can be used as collateral without having to transfer the coins to your Coin Futures Wallet.
- Additionally, you are provided with a summary of your positions, assets, and collaterals at the bottom of the wallet.
- Users may also view their Transaction History.
Coin Futures
In order to trade Coin Futures, you will need to fund your Coin Futures Wallet.
Select the “Coin Futures Wallet” from the “Wallet” dropdown menu.
You then have the choice to either:
- Transfer the coin that you wish to trade on the Coin Futures platform from your Spot Wallet.
- Convert existing crypto into the crypto that you wish to trade on the Coin Futures platform.
- Buy Crypto: Users are redirected to the Binance Exchange in order to purchase crypto to trade on Coin Futures. Please refer to Binance Review, Payment methods for instructions to purchase cryptos.
Other wallet features include:
- Total Margin Balance and Total Wallet Balance.
- Total unrealized PNL.
- Summary of Positions and Assets.
- Transaction History.
Deposit & Withdrawal Options
Binance Futures facilitates the transfer of crypto between your Binance Futures and Binance Spot Wallets.
Please refer to Binance Review Deposit & Withdrawal Options to deposit and withdraw from your Binance Wallets.
For Binance Futures users, traders may transfer USDT to their USDT Futures Wallet. For traders looking to trade on the Coin Futures platform, users need to ensure that a sufficient crypto margin is available to enter into a trade. Traders may also transfer the coin collateral to the Coin Futures Wallet.
Users may either transfer, convert, or purchase cryptos to fund the respective wallets on the Binance exchange to fund the trading of derivatives.
Deposits
In order to trade on the Binance USDT Futures platform, users need to fund their USDT Futures Wallet.
In order to transfer USDT from your Spot Wallet to your USDT Futures Wallet:

- Go to the Binance platform and select “Wallets”.
- Click “Transfer”, located on the top right-hand side of the Wallet page.
- Select either USDT or BNB from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the amount that you wish to transfer and then click “Confirm”
- Once your USDT Futures Wallet has been funded you may proceed to trade.
- There are no transfer fees across the Binance wallets.
An alternative method to transfer between your Spot and Futures Wallets is available on the respective trade interfaces.
At the bottom right of your page, you may select “Transfer” and then complete a transfer from your Spot Wallet to your Futures Wallet.
Withdrawals
In order to withdraw USDT from your USDT Futures Wallet, you may transfer your USDT balance to your Binance USDT Spot Wallet:

- Go to your USDT Futures Wallet.
- Select “Transfer”.

- Click the “Switch” icon as shown by the arrow below to transfer from your USDT Futures to USDT Spot Wallet.
- Enter the amount or choose the percentage you wish to transfer and then click “Confirm”.
Once you have transferred your USDT to your Spot Wallet, follow the instructions on the Binance Review, Withdrawals to withdraw funds.
Trading Platform
Binance Futures provides traders with 2 futures trading platforms, these being the USDT Futures and Coin Futures platforms.
USDT Futures support margined trading with no expiration date and up to 125x leverage.
Coin Futures supports token margined trading with or without expiry dates and up to 125x leverage.
In order to access the respective futures trading platforms, go to “Derivatives” and select “USDT Futures” or “Coin Futures”.
USDT Futures Trading
Once you have funded your USDT Futures Wallet, you’re ready to trade.

- Select the Crypto/USDT pairing that you wish to trade from the dropdown menu on the Left-Hand-Side. (You may also choose from a selected number of pairings shown at the top of the page).
- Choose between “Cross” and “Isolated” Margin Modes and select your leverage. (These are located on the left-hand side of the page).
- Go to the “Place Order” section on the right-hand side.
- Choose order type: Limit Order, Market”, or “Stop Market”.
- In the case of “Limit Order” enter your entry price and order size.
- To mitigate risk, click “TP/SL” and enter your take profit and stop-loss levels. (You may choose from “Mark” or “Last” price, see below)
- Mark Price: This is designed to prevent price manipulation. The Mark Price is calculated using a combination of funding data and a basket of price data from multiple spot exchanges. Your liquidation prices and unrealized P&L are calculated based on the Mark Price.
- Last Price: This is the Last Price that the contract was traded at. In order words, the last trade in the trading history defines the Last Price. The Last Price is used for calculating your realized P&L.
Once you have completed your trade parameters, click “Buy/Long” or “Sell/Short”. Upon execution of your trade, the trade details can be viewed at the bottom of the trade page under “Positions”.
On your first trade, you will be prompted to take a quiz and must get 100% to proceed to trade upon clicking “Buy/Long” or “Sell/Short”.
Once you have passed the quiz, click “Trade Futures”.
Coin Futures Trading
After funding your Spot wallet for the crypto that you wish to trade on the Coin Futures platform, you’re ready to trade.

- Select the Crypto and contract that you wish to trade from the dropdown menu on the Left-Hand-Side.
- For demonstrative purposes, we have chosen BTC/USD Perpetual.
- Choose between “Cross” and “Isolated” Margin Modes and select your leverage. (These are located on the left-hand side of the page).
- Go to the “Place Order” section on the right-hand side.
- Choose order type: Limit, Market”, or “Stop Limit”.
- Under Stop Limit you have 3-options:
- Stop Limit: Stop limit orders execute when a specified stop price is reached.
- Stop Market: Stop marker orders execute when a specified price is reached.
- Trailing Stop: Allows traders to send a pre-set order to the market when a market swing takes place.
- Under Stop Limit you have 3-options:
- In the case of a “Limit Order” enter your entry price and order size. Here, you are advised of the price of a single contract. Your order size is in contract numbers.
Once you have completed your trade parameters, click “Buy/Long” or “Sell/Short”. Upon execution of your trade, the trade details can be viewed at the bottom of the trade page under “Positions”. Here, you are also given the “Mark Price”, “Liq. Price”, “Margin Ratio”, “Margin”, “PNL”, “ADL”, “Close All Positions”, and “TP/SL” options.
On the trade page, alongside “Positions”, you may also view “Open Orders”, “Order History”, “Trade History”, and “Transaction History”.
Prior to execution, your order will appear under “open orders” as shown below. Prior to execution, you may cancel one or cancel all open orders.

Privacy and Security
Binance delivers a high-level of security to users to protect personal information and user assets across the Binance and Binance Futures platforms. Security measures include:
YubiKey 2-Factor Authentication: A YubiKey is a hardware device that you can use on Binance Futures as a 2FA method to enhance account security.
Google Authentication: Used for withdrawals and security modifications.
SMS Authentication: Used for withdrawals and security modifications.
E-mail Address: Used for withdrawals and security modifications.
Additionally, Binance Futures also delivers the following measures that complete a comprehensive security suite:
Device Management: By clicking “Manage” users can view devices permitted to access your account. Here users may also delete unwanted devices.
Address Management: Address management allows users to save and write memos for each of the withdrawal addresses. There is also the option to Whitelist, which helps you protect your funds by only allowing withdrawals to whitelisted addresses.
Anti-Phishing Code: By setting up an Anti-Phishing code, you will be able to differentiate from Binance Futures emails and phishing attempts.
