In Albania, the most important component on the expenditure side of the GDP is household consumption (78 percent) followed by gross fixed capital formation (26 percent) and government expenditure (11 percent). Net exports of goods and services subtracts 18 percent from the GDP as exports accounts for 35 percent and imports for 53 percent.

Albania's gross domestic product rose by 3.6 percent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2024, easing from an upwardly revised 4.2 percent growth in the previous three-month period. This marked the weakest economic expansion since the first quarter of 2023, with household consumption advancing by 3.3 percent and government spending increasing by 0.6 percent. Meanwhile, gross fixed capital formation grew by 2 percent. In terms of net external demand, exports fell by 1.7 percent, while imports rose by 3.12 percent. On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the economy grew by 0.7 percent in the fourth quarter of 2024.
