Armenia’s annual inflation rate rose to 3.8% in January 2026 from 3.3% in the previous month, marking the highest reading since June 2025. Prices increased for food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.9% vs 4.3% in December 2025), health (3% vs 2.5%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (9% vs 7.3%), furnishing and household equipment (0.7% vs 0.2%), and restaurants and hotels (3.2% vs 2.9%). At the same time, costs remained steady for clothing and footwear (0.3%), and education (8.3%). Conversely, prices declined for housing and utilities (-0.1% vs 0.3%), while inflation eased for transport (4.3% vs 6.2%), miscellaneous goods and services (2.2% vs 2.8%), communication (0.5% vs 0.6%), and recreation and culture (0.2% vs 0.9%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 2% in January, following a 1.2% gain in the prior month.
