The central bank of Armenia lowered its benchmark interest rate by 50bps to 9.75% during its Semptember 2023 meeting, marking its third rate cut. The decision came after prices fell from for the third time in August, the first time the country faces deflation since 2020. Policymakers also reduced the deposit rate and the lending rate by 50bps to 8.25% and 11.25%, respectively.
