In Belarus the most important category in the Consumer Price Index is Foodstuffs (39.1 percent of total weight). Other goods and services account for 15.7 percent; Clothing, footwear and fabrics for 8.3 percent; Household goods, household appliances and home care for 6.6 percent; and Housing and utilities for 6 percent. Consumer Price Index in Belarus also includes Culture, recreation and sport (5.4 percent); Communication (4.7 percent) and Health (4.2 percent). Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products; Eating out (catering); Public transport services; and Education account for the remaining 10 percent of total weight.

The annual inflation rate in Belarus accelerated to 5.9% in March 2025, a new high since October 2024, compared to 5.6% in February. The increase was mainly due to faster increases in prices for services (6.6% vs 6.5%) and food (7.5% vs 6.7%) while cost for non-food goods rose slightly less (3.3% vs 3.4%). Compared to the previous month, the CPI went up 0.8%, below a 1.3% rise in February.
