China's industrial capacity utilization rate increased to 76.2% in Q4 of 2024, up from 75.9% in the same period a year earlier, marking the highest rate since Q4 of 2021. The industrial capacity utilization rate accelerated for both manufacturing (76.4% vs. 76.0% in Q4 of 2023) and electricity, heat, gas, and water supply (74.8% vs. 74.4%), while moderating for mining (75.6% vs. 77.1% in Q4 of 2023). In Q3, the industrial capacity utilization rate stood at 75.1%. For the full year of 2024, capacity utilization averaged 75%, little changed from 75.1% in 2023.
