In Denmark, the consumer confidence indicator analyzes the consumer climate through questions about the economic situation as perceived by consumers at a given time concerning both the general economic situation in Denmark and the financial situation of the family. At present an omnibus survey consists of a sample of about 1,500 persons, drawn from a population of persons aged 16-74 years residing in Denmark.

The consumer confidence index in Denmark declined to -14.5 in February 2025 from -11.7 in the previous month. This was the lowest reading since May 2023, as consumers' expectations regarding their finances became more pessimistic (-4.8 vs -1 in January), along with views on the economic situation in the coming year (-29.3 vs -18.6). At the same time, the climate for major purchases was also negative (-12.6 vs -17.8). Meanwhile, assessments of families' financial situations compared to a year ago slightly improved (-5.2 vs -5.3). Regarding aspects not factored into the confidence indicator, expectations for price development in the coming year strengthened (37 vs 29.2), while expectations for unemployment trends over the next twelve months heightened (16.2 vs. 10.1).
