Current Account is the sum of the balance of trade (exports minus imports of goods and services), net factor income (such as interest and dividends) and net transfer payments (such as foreign aid).
Latest Updates
The current account surplus in the Euro Area narrowed to €13.2 billion in January 2025 from €26.5 billion a year earlier. The goods surplus fell to €15.4 billion from €27.2 billion, and the secondary income gap widened to €15.6 billion from €12.6 billion. Meanwhile, the services surplus increased to €7.9 billion from €7.5 billion, and the primary income surplus went up to €5.5 billion from €4.3 billion. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the current account surplus fell to €35.4 billion in January from €38.4 billion in the previous month.
