Hungary Unemployment Rate

The unemployment rate in Hungary increased to 4.6% in August-October 2024, from 4.3% in the corresponding period of the previous year. The number of unemployed people rose 16 thousand year-on-year to 226 thousand. Of this total, 119 thousand were men, with their unemployment rate up to 4.6%, while 106 thousand were women and their unemployment rate was also 4.6%. Meanwhile, the employment dropped by 14 thousand to 4.703 million. The average time spent looking for a job was 12.1 months, with 48% of all unemployed people had been looking for a job for less than 3 months and 34% for at least a year.
