Japan’s industrial production rose 2.3% month-over-month in February 2025, slightly below the preliminary estimate of 2.5% but rebounding from three consecutive monthly declines. It was the fastest monthly growth since March 2024, driven by strong gains in production machinery (8.3% vs -10.2% in January), electronic parts and devices (9.4% vs -4.8%), and pulp, paper, and paper products (2.6% vs -2.8%). On a year-on-year basis, output edged up 0.1%, easing from a 2.2% increase in January but marking the second straight month of annual growth.
