Latest Updates
The annual inflation rate in Kuwait rose to 2.5% in December 2024, from 2.36% in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since September, as prices accelerated for food & beverages (5% vs 4.66% in November), housing services (0.9% vs 0.57%), and recreation & culture (2.64% vs 2.42%). Additionally, costs declined less for transport (-1.47% vs -1.89%). Meanwhile, inflation moderated for clothing & footwear (5.13% vs 5.54%) and home furnishings & maintenance equipment (3.51% vs 4.05%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.45%, marking the highest reading since June 2023, following a 0.15% gain in the preceding period.
