Food prices in Malaysia increased by 2.5% year-on-year in March 2025, maintaining the same pace for the third consecutive month while staying at their lowest level in three months. Cost continued to rise for food at home (0.6% vs 0.5% in February), fish & other seafood (1.7% vs 1.2%), oils & fats (1.7% vs 1.7%), fruits & nuts (-0.4% vs 0.3%), sugar, confectionery & desserts (1.1% vs 1.1%), and food away from home (4.5% vs 4.6%). At the same time, prices declined for cereals & cereal products (-0.2% vs 0.2%), meat (-0.4% vs -0.3%), milk, other dairy products & eggs (-1.1% vs -0.8%), and vegetables (-0.8% vs -1.0%).
