Norway’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 3.7% in January 2025, down from December’s eight-month high of 4.2%. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 13 thousand to an eleven-month low of 112 thousand. Meanwhile, the employment rate increased to 70% in January from 69.1% in December, with the number of employed individuals rising by 38 thousand to a record high of 2.914 million. The labor force participation rate ticked up to 72.7% from 72.2%. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, which measures the number of job-seekers between 15 to 24 years old, dropped to 11.2% from 12.6% in the previous month.
