In South Korea, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate measures the number of people actively looking for a job as a percentage of the labour force.
Latest Updates
South Korea’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 2.7% in February 2025, marking its second consecutive monthly decline after readings of 3.7% in December and 2.9% in January. The improvement suggests a recovering labor market following last year’s brief disruption caused by the short-lived martial law attempt. The number of employed individuals rose by 136,000, or 0.5% year-on-year, reaching 28.179 million in February. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate inched up to 63.7%, reflecting a 0.1 percentage point increase from the previous year.
