Latest Updates

Switzerland's current account surplus narrowed to CHF 9.8 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024 from CHF 13.8 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year. The primary income shortfall increased to CHF 7.2 billion from CHF 3.6 billion in the fourth quarter of 2023, while the secondary income deficit widened to CHF 3.4 billion from CHF 1.8 billion. In addition, services account shortfall went up to CHF 9.4 billion from CHF 8.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024. Meanwhile, the goods account surplus increased to CHF 30 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024 from CHF 27.9 billion a year earlier.
