In Turkey, Tourism Revenues is defined as the total expenditure made in Turkey by foreigners and citizen visitors resident in abroad (excluding real estate expenditures, repair-maintenance expenses for residences, durables etc.). Tourism income includes the expenditure on food and beverages, accommodation, health, transportation in Turkey, sports, education, culture, international transportation with Turkish firms, mobile phone roaming expenditures, marina service expenditures, souvenirs etc.

Tourism revenues in Turkey surged by 14.5 % year-on-year to $13.79 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024. Individual expenditures constituted $9.9 billion of the total tourism income, while the share of package tour expenditures was $3.7 billion in the fourth quarter. The largest shares of expenditure were on package tours (27.2%), food and beverages (20.7%), and international transport (13%). Compared to the same quarter the previous year, package tour and food & beverage spending surged by 23.2% and 26.3%, respectively, while international transport expenditure rose by 5.2%. For the full year, tourism revenues increased by 8.3 % from 2023 to $61.10 billion, with tourism income from visitors reaching $60.5 billion. Last year, tourist arrivals climbed by 9% compared to the previous year and reached 62.2 million persons.
