The increase was largely driven by a rebound in prices for food & non-alcoholic beverages (1.8% vs -0.29% in August 2024), along with higher inflation for clothing & footwear (4.67% vs 3.99%), housing & utilities (10.31% vs 8.94%), and miscellaneous goods & services (3.06% vs 2.86%). On the other hand, prices increased at a slower pace for alcoholic beverages & tobacco (2.62% vs 9.18%), restaurants & hotels (3.38% vs 3.84%), while dropping for furnishings & household equipment (-0.06% vs 1.16%) and transport (-1.52% vs -0.33%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.5%, following a flat reading in the previous month.
