The unemployment rate in Denmark inched lower to 2.5% in January 2025 from 2.6% in the previous five months. It was the lowest jobless rate since last July, as the number of unemployed individuals decreased by 1.6 thousand from a month earlier to 75.7 thousand. Net unemployed recipients of unemployment benefits dropped by 1.4 thousand to 66.8 thousand, while recipients of social assistance fell by 0.2 thousand to 8.9 thousand. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, representing job-seekers aged 16 to 24, remained at 1.1%.
