Mexico Unemployment Rate

The Mexican unemployment rate was at 2.9% in September of 2024, holding unchanged from the value in the corresponding period of the previous year and below market expectations of 3%, but remaining firmly above the 22-year low of 2.3% touched in March of 2024. The unemployed population rose by 38.3 thousand from the previous year to 1.789 million in the period, offsetting the 335.2 thousand increase in net employment to 59.42 million.
